The world’s thinnest Android smartphone, aka the Gionee Elife S5.5 will
go on sale in China from 18th March. As the name suggests, the phone is
just 5.5 mm thick, beating everything else currently on the market, but
the svelte design is not its only selling point.
Costing 2299 Yuan ($374) the Gionee Elife S5.5 has a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 2300mAh battery, octacore MT6592 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, 5 mega-pixel wide angle front camera and 13 mega-pixel Sony rear. As the phone has the latest Mediatek 8-core under the hood, the Elife S5.5 will support TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM frequencies.
